The Greeneville City Schools Education Foundation is set to host the Inaugural Mardi Growl Dog Parade on Depot on March 1. The event will take place from 2:30-4:00, will feature local vendors, music, games, and will culminate with the pet parade on Depot, stepping off at 3:00pm from the corner of Irish & Depot and marching toward Main & Depot. Save the date and bring the whole family along for a dog-gone good time!
While the event will be free to spectators, anyone wishing to participate in the parade will need to register their pet. Participants in the parade will also compete in a costume contest to be crowned King and Queen of Mardi Growl and best Human/Dog Duo. Parade spectators will also cast their votes for a fan favorite, so dress to impress and let the good times roll! Pre-registration rates are $15 and parade day registration is $20. Online registration is available here: Mardi Growl registration . You can also download a printable form here: Mardi Growl registration form and return to: P.O. Box 1420 Greeneville TN 37744.

The GCS Education Foundation was established in 1996 by a group of private citizens working closely with the Greeneville City Board of Education and the Greeneville City School System administration as an independent, non-profit organization which advocates for a strong system of public education. The mission of the Education Foundation is to go “beyond the basics” provided to our public school system by government funding so that Greeneville City Schools’ students will be college and career ready, and successfully equipped in a global society.
