GMS Athletics: Varsity Soccer, April 29, 2025: The Devils didn’t go down without a fight. The boys played hard and tough! Indian Trail scored two goals late to end the boys' season 3-0. Christian Myers had three saves. Bentley Freudenberger had two.

The GHS Athletic Physical clinic begins at 4:30 PM today at the GHS gym. GMS Athletics, Track, Conference Championship Meet, April 28, 2025: Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Track Team last night at the Conference Championship. 5 School Records were broken! The girls' 4x100 of Tatum Hill, Elsie Rogers, Peyton Vaught, and Kinsley Spradlen took first and broke the school record. The Girls 4x400 of Peyton Vaught, Julieann Raby, Maggie Moore, and Tatum Hill took first and broke the school record. The boys' 4x100 of Andres Bowman, Juelz Mann, Jalyn Kerwin, and Zy Neal took first, broke their own school record, and are ranked #2 in the state. Andres Bowman won high jump and jumped 6 ft to break the school record, ranked #1 in State. Zy Neal broke his own school record in the 200 and took first. Maggie Moore is your conference champ in both the 1600 and 800! The team will compete in State Sectionals this Saturday.

GMS Athletics, Soccer Varsity Game Results, April 28th: The Devils got their 10th win of the season, defeating Kingsport in tonight’s quarterfinal matchup 2-1. They advance to play Indian Trail tomorrow. Maddox Tucker ⚽️ Gabriel Anderson ⚽️ Dash Lawson 🅰️ Christian Myers had 3 saves. Bentley Freudenberger had 1 save.

GMS Athletics: Softball, April 22, 2025 The Varsity Lady Devils defeated Sullivan Central 17-1 on 8th grade night at GHS Field. The JV Lady Devils beat Sullivan Central 11-10 in a close game.

GMS Athletics: Soccer, April 22, 2025 The Varsity Devils defeat the Cougars 8-0 to finish 9-3 in the regular season. GMS Athletic: Golf District Match The District Tournament was held at Link Hills on Monday, 4-21-25. The GMS boys continued their winning ways after an undefeated season. Out of 12 teams in the District, the GMS boys defeated West View in 2nd Place by 12 strokes and Jeff County in 3rd place by 19 strokes, matching their best score of the year. Nate Howlett shot an even par 36 and was the lowest boys' score of the day. He was the boys’ medalist for the 2nd straight year. Maps Gray tied the 2nd-lowest score of the day, but all GMS golfers performed great. They will be back in action on May 7th at the Sectional Golf Tournament in Dandridge. The girls also performed amazing, considering all the girls are brand new this year. The GMS girls tied for 2nd out of twelve teams and lost the tiebreaker, ending their season as a team. Maelynn Hux shot a 53 and qualified for the Sectional Tournament as an individual. This will also take place on May 7th.

GMS Athletics: Varsity Soccer, April 17, 2025 GMS beat Church Hill 9-0 on Thursday at Church Hill.

GMS Athletics: Golf, April 17, 2025 GMS celebrated 8th graders tonight with a boys' win to finish the Golf Season undefeated. Nate Howlett, Cohen Broyles, and Ben Gosnell are the GMS 8th graders for this season. The team would like to shout out Jeremy Simerly for attending, taking pictures, and helping celebrate these young men and their great accomplishments this season on their final match and 8th-grade night. GMS boys win with a score of 173, defeating West View with a score of 205 and South Greene MS with a score of 207. Nate Howlett posted a score of 38 and was the low boys' score of the day. Jaxson Lester posted his lowest match score of the year with a 41. GMS will be in action on Monday in the District Tournament, with a chance to reach Sectionals. In girls’ action, GMS finished in the middle of the pack with the best team score of the year. Maelyn Hux posted her best score of the year and was the 3rd lowest score out of all girls on the day. The girls will also be back in action in the District Tournament on Monday.

GMS Athletics: Golf, April 15, 2025 The GMS Boys defeated Lakeway Christian Academy and South Greene MS in golf action yesterday. Nate Howlett had the low score for GMS with an even par 36 and finished second on the day. Maps Gray finished in fourth place with a 42. Jackson Shipley posted his lowest match score of the season! The girls had a tough day and placed 3rd. Addison Jeffers had the third best girls score overall.
